CHAMPIONS!!

On July 9th, 2010, “The Fast and the Furry Us” composed of (from left to right) Kathy Quigley & Roxie, Michael & Jule with Jody Brengan & Cocoa beat the heat of 93 degrees at the July USDAA Regional competition and WON FIRST PLACE out of 33 DAM (Dog Agility Masters) teams!!

DEMONSTRATIONS 2010!

August 9th & 10th, at the Stanwood Camano Fair for the 5th year in a row, Every-Buddys Agility Fun and their friends and students put on several demonstrations over the course of the weekend, as well as gave out dog topic handouts. What fun we had as can be seen by the smiling faces of BOTH the dogs and handlers, not to mention the public! The President of the Fairboard stopped by at every demonstration and at the end of the Fair came by to tell us how great all the demonstrations were from the accompanying educational talks given to the fast and fun Agility teams! We are already looking forward to next year already. Thank you to all who participated, old friends from other facilities and students and friends from Every-Buddys!

Agility Coming to the Stanwood Camano Fair Again!

Every-Buddys Agility Fun! will be entertaining the 2009 fair-goers again! This years demonstrations will take place on Saturday and Sunday only. They will feature National teams and Student Teams showing their different skill levels on the path to becoming competitive agility teams.

Come to the Fair on Saturday or Sunday to visit with Michael and Heather and their friends and students to find out more about this fun dog sport! The schedule of the times for the demos will be posted in the paper local paper or contact Heather for more information!

We are pleased to announced that two fuzzy buddys owned by the same people, Scott Imlay and his wife, Kelli, earned their NADAC NATCHs on February 14th and 15th! Scott ran both dogs, PJ & Jade, to success, first with a VERY difficult Chances run on Saturday with PJ and then followed it with Jades terrific Regular run on Sunday to complete both their NATCHs! We are jazzed! Both dogs are rescue dogs and it is a true testimonial to Scotts patience and kindness that they have risen to be the wonderful agility dogs that they are! As you can tell from the photos, getting set up for the photo for TWO NATCHs is a lot harder than setting up for one!

2008 Buddy News

We were out of the country working on a real estate project for several weeks, but still managed to “get some things done” here at Every-Buddys!

Youngest Buddy BANDIT Debuts!

We were pleased and excited as Bandit had his first trial experiences this year at both NADAC and USDAA trials. He entered in only a few runs in each trial and showed that he was VERY fast and had some of those “young dog behaviors” as he and Michael have been getting calibrated. As the year went on, he did better and better. On the one day of trialing we did at the ZAP Thanksgiving NADAC trial he earned 4 first place Qs in one day! In January 09, he earned his USDAA Starters Jumpers Title (with 2nd places) and has one more run for his Standard Title as well. In addition he placed 2nd & Qd in Snooker, Gamblers and another Jumpers run! Flying FINE!

Sadie, our oldest and first Agility Border Collie, had her final run at the Mega Dogs trial in May. She has been a WONDERFUL agility dog, having earned all the big titles over her 10 plus year in agility in USDAA and NADAC both. They broke the mold when she was made and it was with tears that I watched her last run on May 25, 2008. It was fitting that she earned lst place that day, too! She still gets to play a bit around the field here, but is retired from competition.

Even Wild Child Xena, turning 9, earned a title this year: USDAA Gamblers Master! Still spinning her way through the course, she has a fun time…between time outs for injuries. Shes back at it again in 2009, although we now have her entered in Veterans level where she runs in the 16inch classes---appropriate for a dog thats 9.

Jule, our Rescue Redhead, as we call her, had another super year! Even though we didnt trial as much as in 2007, due to being out of the country, she still did consistently well and earned her way to the NADAC Championships. We are pleased that they placed in several of the runs at Champs where she made her way into the Finals round. There were some great teams at Championships that are both fast and accurate and we are proud that she managed her way into the Finals at 7+ years old! YAY, Jule!

Bruce's Crown Jule

In addition, Jule earned her Snooker Champion Title in USDAA on top of her Agility Dog Champion title of 2007! Michael and Jule are placing well consistently with qualifying runs and Super Qs in USDAA Snooker, proving that you can do distance work in NADAC and do close work in USDAA and do well in both venues.

In addition, she has earned her Gamblers Champion, Standard Champion and Jumpers Champion titles! AND her Tournament Master Bronze!.....We are very pleased with our Rescue Redheads Scary Smart willingness to hone her skills and do her best.

We are excited to announce:

Jody & Cocoa earned their NATCH at the CAT Columbia Cup! We are VERY proud of their fast progress! Yes, Virginia, there is a correlation between how much you practice and how fast you progress!!

Demonstrations at the Stanwood Camano Fair a SUCCESS one more time!

One more year, we were pleased to entertain Fair-goers for 3 days with Clouds Canine and their 4H group, Camano Canines!

Along with the more experienced dogs,

young dogs, Bandit and Guinness helped,

Finally, we were glad to have National Freestyle Winner and Instructor, Corinne Lawson, bring her wonderful retired Agility dog, Genevieve, to show us how you can do a great job doing Freestyle even though you are no longer able to do Agility. It was a very special treat!

We thank all Every-Buddy students that participated in the 3 day event as well as friends of Every-Buddys who came from afar to help. It was another successful year at the Stanwood Camano Fair: The BEST lil Fair in the West!

2008 Welcomed 3 students onto the Agility Field for the First Time:

Meg Guinn with her dog, Chibi, in their first runs at their first trial! Whatta natural!

In addition, Aaron Abrahamson and his dog Leo debuted in NADAC this year, as did “sister” Elsa handled by Jenny McInnis!

NADAC Championships Again!

We are pleased to have been able to attend the 2008 Championships while it was on this side of the country, as it will be in Tennessee in 2009. We had a great showing of folks from the Pacific Northwest and are pleased that so many of them did well.

Further, we are pleased to report that one more year, Jule and Michael earned their way into the finals, one of only 7 dogs in their jump height! YAY, Michael and Jule!

New Buddy Arrives!

Jody welcomes a new fuzzhead to her pack! Hillcrests Throwin the First Punch “Rocky” ! Cocoa thinks she should have done something about him before she fell in love with him!

RAT Scallions WINS lst place!!

Jule and 2 EB students dogs, Jade owned by Scott Imlay and Cocoa owned by Jody Brengan as well as RAT member, Laura Slushers dog, Rave participated in “League” this year. League is played at several different sites throughout Washington & Oregon with teams of 4 dogs. This year there were over 50 teams entered. We are super pleased to announce that after 7 weeks of competition on 14 different courses, RAT Scallions earned lst place in League!
